What are you focused on?

Matthew 14:28-31
Matthew 14:28-31

What are you focused on? When we focus on ourselves or our circumstances, we begin to lose hope. Peter focused on the wind and the waves and he began to sink (Matthew 14:28-31). As soon as Peter focused on Jesus, he was able to walk across the sea. When we keep our focus on Jesus, miracles happen. Don’t focus on the wind and the waves!

Disruptions=Change in Focus!

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

Are you going through a season of disruptions? According to the Merriam Webster, disruption is “the act or process of disrupting something: a break or interruption in the normal course or continuation of some activity, process, etc.” You may be experiencing a disruption in your sleep, a disruption at your work, or a disruption in your family.

When we experience these disruptions, we tend to hold on to them. By that I mean we just continue allowing whatever it is to disrupt our lives. Our focus switches to the problem instead of to the solution.

We should not allow these disruptions to change our focus. Faith is keeping your eyes on God when everything around you is falling apart.

Jeremiah 29:13 states, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart.”

Don’t let the disruptors in your lives change your focus. Continue to pray for more focus on God and the rest will be taken care of!
