Are you feeling discouraged?

Happy Monday! How are you doing? Are you feeling discouraged? Webster’s Dictionary defines being discouraged as deprived of courage confidence. Do you feel like you have lost your courage? We still have hope.

Life has its share of disappointment and heartaches. But we have hope.

Hope as an anchor…

Hebrews 6:19 tells us, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.

Expect good things to happen.

Isaiah 30:18 states, “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up and show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait on Him.”

Meditate on the good things that God has brought you through. We may be going to hard times, but we have hope that things will work out.

In Genesis 17, God promised Abraham, he and Sarah would have a son. Even though Abraham and Sarah were beyond child-bearing years, Abraham never gave up hope that Sarah would have a child. He didn’t ignore the reality but he had hope.

Have hope today that good things will happen.

Blessings!

Don’t get stuck in the suffering!

How are you doing? Last week I had a wave of anxiety hit me. Friends, it’s okay to cry, to be sad, and to be frustrated. We should not get stuck in the suffering.

Don't get stuck in the suffering
Don’t get stuck in the suffering.

People are suffering and hurting and before the Conavirus we could go to the Sunday church service and find some peace. We are now living in the new normal.

I believe God wants us to know

He is where we are. For example, God is in our homes. I think we are learning that we can find Him in all sorts of places. In other words, God is moving and we live in a day that affords us the opportunity to worship together through the internet.

I know that this seems like we have been going through this for a long time. In reality, “…with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” 1 Peter 3:8

In conclusion, keep moving forward and don’t get stuck in the process. Look back at all that God has brought you through. He will do it again. We have hope!

1 Peter 5:10,And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”

Know that God will carry you to the other side.

Are you looking for a ray of hope in these crazy times?

Have you asked this question the last week? On Monday, I heard our city was extended the limited lockdown order until the end of April. While I half expected the decision, I was sad. Do you find yourself looking for a ray of hope?

Are you looking for a ray of hope in these crazy times?

This past weekend, we celebrated Easter without our granddaughters.

How was your Easter celebration? I would love to hear from you.

Anyway, I was thinking some of the stories from the Bible. One in particular that comes to mind is the story of Joseph. Joseph went through so much in his life such as being sold into slavery by his brothers and later imprisoned. God loved Joseph and never left him through every trial. Joseph’s story shows us how to have the right attitude through difficulty and misfortune.

Genesis 39:21, “the Lord was with him…”

Focusing on God in the before and the after will help us come out of this time of trouble.

Here is the hope you are looking for!

We may be in the middle of a pandemic, but God has never left us. He is right there beside us just like He was with Joseph.

We don’t have to wonder, God is here and He is for us!
