Rest, God’s got this!

Hello friends! What do you spend your time doing? I admit on many days, I feel like hiding away in my house from all of the chaos. When I do go out, I see the fear in the eyes of people. Fear is a liar that grips your soul if you let it. Enter into rest, God’s got this!

What are you afraid of?

When my kids were little, I had so many worries and fears. I admit that even now that they are grown, I still have the tendency to worry. I find when I spend my time worrying, my worries turn into anxiety and eventually I start to fear.

One thing God is teaching me…

is how to cast my care. That is probably one of the hardest things I have ever done because it goes against my grain. However, 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

God is telling us to…

rest because He has got this. You might be saying how can I rest when I have so many problems? Believe me, I have said that so many times. Every time I start to worry, I just whisper to God, “you got this.”

Focus on…

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable” (Philippians 4:8).

Go ahead and enjoy your journey because the God who created all things has got it all in control!

I triple dog dare you…

Happy Friday! “A Christmas Story” is one of my favorite Christmas movies. In the movie, Flick and Schwartz argue over what would happen if someone should stick their tongue to a frozen flagpole, and Schwartz dares Flick to stick his tongue to the pole. Schwartz said, “I triple dog dare you.” This did not end up well for Flick.

Yesterday, I finished reading “Healing the Soul of a Woman” by Joyce Meyer. It was probably one of the most inspiring books that I have read in a long time.

When we make mistakes, we tend to focus on what is wrong with us instead of what is right with us. There are so many things that we do well that we should be focusing on.

God is full of goodness and through His grace and mercy all of our sins are forgiven and forgotten.

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

I double dog dare you…

to start your day with something positive. Read and meditate on a Scripture. Find a book to read that is uplifting.

I triple dog dare you…

to make a list of things that you do well.

Lastly, give to God what you are not!!! Go ahead, I dare you.

Blessings to you today.

When storms come, run to your refuge…

When I was a little girl, we lived in a small town with frequent storms, especially in the Spring season. We had a siren that alerted everyone of an impending tornado. (back before the internet) My dad built a basement underneath our garage so we would have a place to shelter and stay safe from the storms. When storms come, run to your refuge…

When storms come run to your refuge...
When storms come run to your refuge…

Friends we have a shelter to run to when trouble comes!!!

Psalms 46:1-2 states, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

God is our refuge and he will protect us. God is strong, secure, and solid. We don’t have to worry because He is always there.

All you have to do is trust Him!!

Psalms 46: 5-6, “You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness nor the plague that stalks in the midday.”

When storms come, run to your refuge…

God will never fail you. Change your focus to God and rely on Him today. He will never let you down.

I am praying for you today. I pray that you know the truth that God is your shelter, your strength, and your refuge. He is for you!!!
