We Are Not Called To Compare Ourselves To Others!

John 21:22

Happy Monday friends! I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend. As I write this, I am preparing for a visit from our grands. Social media is a wonderful tool for everyone to stay in touch. However, it is also a place where we spend too much time comparing ourselves to others. We are not called to compare ourselves to others!

Many times, I start my day out reading about the amazing lives of all of my Facebook friends which is not a great way to start a day.

This leads me to start thinking about all of the things that are wrong with me instead of all of the things that are right with me.

I forget about the problems that everyone is going through. Let’s face it, we all have problems.

Even Peter compare himself to others, “Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me” (John 21:22).

The bottom line, I am supposed to compare myself to other people. When I do, it brings condemnation to my life.

We are all uniquely and wonderfully made! Focus on God’s wisdom and goodness!

It’s So Easy To Constantly Complain About Things

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18

Happy Monday! I hope that your weekend was great. As I reflect over my last week, I admit it has been a busy one. There were times when I felt like I was being pulled in all different directions and I have caught myself grumbling and complaining. It’s so easy to constantly complain about things.

We have been through a rough two years. In fact, it doesn’t look like things are getting better.

God does answer our prayers but doesn’t answer complaints. On many days it is so easy to focus more on our problems then our blessings.

When we complain, we are literally wasting our time. Complaining does not change one thing about our life.

I don’t have a bubbly personality so it is hard for me to be positive all of the time. I have to work at being positive and thankful because it’s so easy to constantly complain about things.

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18 states, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Being thankful is not a one time thing. It is something that we do throughout the day. A prayer of thanksgiving is the kind of prayer that Jesus answers.

Philippians 4:6-7 states, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

“Complain and remain, praise and be raised.” ~Joyce Meyer

Go to God with thanksgiving. No matter how bad it gets, God is still good and we are blessed!

Just Make Somebody Happy!

Just make somebody happy

Happy Monday, Friends! I hope that your week is off to a great start! This is probably my most favorite time of year. I love all of the flowers. Spring is the time to just make somebody happy!

I remember when my boys would pick flowers from the yard to give to me. In a small way, they wanted to make me happy.

Ephesians 2:10 states, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

What are you doing to make somebody happy?

For starters, we need to get our minds off of ourselves which can be so hard. Even as an adult, we constantly think about the next greatest upgrade in all things.

We constantly find excuses to purchase a new phone, a car, or even a new home.

I admit, that I have been guilty in this area of my life.

There is nothing wrong with doing things for ourselves. However, we are so much happier when we do for others.

We need some kindness in this world. Take a minute to be the one who spreads kindness.

Friends, thank you for stopping by my blog today. I am always happy when you do! Stop by every week at kamzinsser.com.
