Lucky or Ordained by God! Part 2

Happy Wednesday! It has been a great week so far!

When I think of Esther, I have a vision of a beautiful princess such as the princesses we see in all the movies. The story of Esther is packed full of intrigue and mystery. Who doesn’t like a great mystery?

In Monday’s blog we read how Esther gained favor with all in the palace and eventually became the queen. The story does not end there. In fact, there is a plot to kill the king, the Jewish people, and Mordecai. Again, Esther is thrust right in the middle of God’s plan.

Let’s get to it!

Haman was the bad guy and he wanted to kill all the Jews. Esther is secretly hiding that she is a Jew. Esther knows that she must talk to the king but before she does, she fasts for three days while others prayed and fasted as well. Mordecai uncovered a plan to kill the king and told Esther.

Had Esther not have been the queen, the Jewish people would have been killed as well as the King. Esther 4:14 says, “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Esther was not there by luck. She was ordained by God “for such a time as this.” God is sovereign even when your life doesn’t make sense.

To find out the ending to the story of Esther, please take the time to read the book of Esther in the Bible.

Ladies, you have been ordained by God “for such a time as this.” God has a great plan for your life. We are not lucky! We are blessed by God!

Have a blessed day and thank you for reading my blog!

Are you constantly frustrated?

How many times have you said, “I am so frustrated! I’ve had enough!”

We live in a world full of turmoil, anger, and hatred. It is so easy to get caught up in the day to day troubles and let it still our peace.

So how do we have peace and experience it even in the midst of trouble? Colossians 3:15 says, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

We can make the decision to stop letting things frustrate us. You might be reading this blog and saying to yourself, “you don’t have my problems.” No, I may not, but I can tell you that deciding to live a life in peace is a decision that starts first in our minds.

Instead of going to the phone to share all of our frustrations, go to the throne and tell God. Did you know that He is your friend? We can talk to God just like a friend.

We cannot do this in our own strength. So, start your day by saying, “with God’s help I will not get frustrated today. I will remain calm and hold my peace.”

Run towards peace today!

Jesus gives you peace!

Isaiah 9:6 says, “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful, Counselor,” Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Here are a few key principles to help you achieve a peace-filled life.

·     Start your day off right. Instead of listening to the negativity on the news, put on some praise music or listen to a podcast.

·     Find a Scripture that is positive and speak it over your life. Here are a couple to get you started.

·     Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”

·     Philippians 4:8 “Begin to think on the Word or begin to sing a praise song to God. Make a conscious effort to fill your mind with good, pure, wholesome, and lovely thoughts.”

·     Listen for the Holy Spirit. If you find yourself getting frustrated throughout the day, take a minute to pray and seek God.

You can learn to let go of these frustrations and trust that God will give you grace as you need it.

Blessings to you!
