“Then Jesus said to His disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds. Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?” (Luke 12: 22-34).
Are you a worrier? It is a common pastime for everyone. I confess that I have spent many a day and night worrying. If you think about it, we have a lot to worry about such as finding a job, paying bills, raising our kids, losing a loved one, not being enough etc. The list goes on and on. You know what I have learned over the years, worry does not change one thing.
Friends, did you know that worry opens the door for the devil? Worry can lead to sickness and disease. Worry can keep you up at night and cause you to be anxious.
It takes time to overcome the habit of worrying. Now days when we want to find an answer, we Google it. You can find the answer to any and all of our problems in Google, not! I repeat, not!
I will provide two easy ways to help you become a warrior instead of being a worrier. 1 Peter 5:7 states, “Humble yourselves, under God’s mighty hand that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
Two things that we can learn from these verses: humble yourselves and cast your anxieties. In other words, when you have struggles and we know we will, go to the throne not to the phone. Google will not have the answer, but God will. Once we gone to the throne and talked to God, know that He has this! In other words, God’s got this!
Now this is the most important part of all, “Let it go!” I repeat, “Let it go!”
Keep in mind that this requires work and practice. You are in training to become a warrior. I hope that you will try this today! Don’t waste another second worrying!

Tis the season for people everywhere to have the sniffles or a cough. I have been feeling under the weather for the past week. I was blessed to get sick on my time off so I could stay home and rest. However, this week I started back to work. I don’t have time to be sick.
When we get sick the enemy bombards our thinking with negativity. For example, “You are never going to get well. You are getting worse not better.”
This week, I am putting all that I have shared with you the past few weeks into practice. I fill my mind with the good news such as Romans 8:28, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Jeremiah 30:17, “I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the Lord.I thank God for all He has done for me.
Maybe you have sickness in your body, or you are feeling down this week. Friends, I encourage you today to stay in the word. Continually feed your mind and body with positivity. Spend time worshipping God.
Be blessed today!

Happy Monday! We’ve made it through the first few weeks of 2019! I am still trying to get over my cold from Christmas break. I started back to work last week so I am back in the swing of things.
For the last week, I have mulled over the question, “What does God want me to do in 2019?”
I love the message in Psalm 57:2, “I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.” The key here is God will fulfill his purpose for you. In other words, God is in control and He has a plan.
I heard a message on being an overcomer this week by David Jeremiah. He provided some points on being an overcomer. The one point that stood out to me is not being defined by our past. In other words, we may have made some mistakes, but we should not let those mistakes define who we are in Christ.
Maybe you had a rough 2018 or maybe the start of 2019 has not been so good either. Friends, life is full of ups and downs. In Genesis 39: 19-21, Joseph was thrown into prison after Potiphar’s wife lied on him. “Potiphar was furious when he heard his wife’s story about how Joseph had treated her. So, he took Joseph and threw him into prison where the king’s prisoners were held, and the he remained. But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love. And the Lord made Joseph a favorite with the prison warden.”
The great news is that “the Lord was with Joseph.” Wow, you may be walking through a terrible time in your life but just know the Lord is with you. He never promised us a perfect life without troubles but he did promise us to never leave us.
Seek God today and ask him what He wants you to do in 2019. Search the scriptures and then spend time listening to God. Trust in knowing that He will be with you no matter what life brings.
