Dear Parents, …

Your mission

With news of schools closing indefinitely for the year I have heard and felt the panic from parents.

You were tasked with a mission and you have no choice but to accept!

You can do this!”

We are all in this together even though we may be far apart.

Right now, you may not know where to start! It can be a bit overwhelming!

Confidence

Get started!

  • Have confidence in yourself and your abilities.
  • You don’t need a lot of supplies to get started.
  • You don’t have to follow a strict schedule.
  • Be creative and do your research.
  • Use your resources
  • Have fun!

There is no right or wrong way to get started and there are so many great resources online that have been made available to parents, teachers, students for free or little cost. If you do not have access to online resources, it is fine! There are some really great activities that you can do with your children without going online.

Follow my sweet daughter-in-law’s, Alyssa (@thepurposeplanner) on Facebook. She shares some great activity ideas to help you engage your pre-k children in learning at home.

Online Resource

Education.com– I signed up for the free account. You can download free worksheets for ages preschool – 5th grade. You can search for activities by a specific subject or by topic.

Free learning activity

If you don’t have internet access you can start your day with a fun activity such as a scavenger hunt. Gather up many different items that you can hide easily. Hide the items inside or outside of your home. I included an example below to help you.

  • The items can be specific to a letter of the alphabet.
  • Have the kids count the items that they find to incorporate math.
  • Play music on the radio or your phone that keeps them dancing while they hunt.
