Are you struggling with your focus? This year has certainly been a little crazy and I admit there are many days that I struggle to stay on target! What are you focused on?
For example, I know better but I still catch myself focusing on the breaking news instead of the good news. I confess it is so easy to get off track because of so many distractions.
If you are like me, you have notifications or alerts set on your phone whenever there is breaking news. I might be in the middle of something important but stop to check my phone. My focus is completely lost!
We tend to get distracted by things that don’t really matter. Focus is not always 2020. Therefore, I have to work on my priorities if I’m going to expect to receive God’s resources. I struggle with my focus!
Matthew 6:33 states, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
This week has been a busy one! So many things are going on right now. Just when you think things could not get any worse. Surprise! So, who are you listening to?
I am not here to share my opinion on politics. However, I am going to follow up with my answer to it all, Pray!
Have you ever heard the saying, “They say!” Who are “they and what makes them the expert?” What makes them trustworthy?
When you have a decision to make do you call a friend for advice or ask God?
Friends, we have someone to go to when we are feeling afraid, anxious, sad, frustrated, or even mad. God is always there and let me tell you, He is the good news!
You might be feeling alone or even afraid! God wants you to know that we don’t have to fear. He is in control!
John 16:33 states, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Jesus tells us that we will have trouble in this world, but we can find peace in Him. So, why not go to Him!
So, I ask again, “Who are you listening to?”

Apples are the best during the months of August through October! What is your favorite type of apple? This is the time to make your favorite apple recipes. One favorite around our house is the Cinnamon Apple Raisin Cake. I like to say it is a little healthier than just your typical cake, plus you don’t add the icing on the top. I switched up my recipe and added yogurt and coconut oil instead of vegetable oil. I liked it so much, I think I will try this combination with some of my other favorite baked goods. You will definitely want to try my cinnamon apple raisin cake.
