You Planted a Seed Now What?

You planted a seed now what?

Happy Monday, friends. As we near the end of April, I hope that the month of May will be amazing. This time of year, I love seeing the flowers grow. In fact, I take time out of my day to take pictures of flowers growing in my yard. Many of you may be planting a garden or maybe some flowers. You planted a seed now what?

This year, I am trying to grow a few vegetables in pots on the back patio. When you plant a seed, it is so hard to wait and I admit that I am not very patient.

No matter how hard I try to hurry the growing process, I cannot do it. If I were to try, I would only be frustrated.

Mark 4:26-27 states, “He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.

Friends when you plant a seed, we can’t see what is going on under the soil. We have faith and trust the seeds we plant will grow into something beautiful.

We spend time watering our seeds and waiting.

This same principle applies to our lives. You planted a seed now what?

You may not feel like you are moving forward and you may actually feel stuck.

We grow so gradually that we can’t see the growth. I can tell you, that God is working. If we ask God to help us, He will.

Don’t give up! Keep moving forward. Celebrate the harvest!

We Are Not Called To Compare Ourselves To Others!

John 21:22

Happy Monday friends! I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend. As I write this, I am preparing for a visit from our grands. Social media is a wonderful tool for everyone to stay in touch. However, it is also a place where we spend too much time comparing ourselves to others. We are not called to compare ourselves to others!

Many times, I start my day out reading about the amazing lives of all of my Facebook friends which is not a great way to start a day.

This leads me to start thinking about all of the things that are wrong with me instead of all of the things that are right with me.

I forget about the problems that everyone is going through. Let’s face it, we all have problems.

Even Peter compare himself to others, “Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me” (John 21:22).

The bottom line, I am supposed to compare myself to other people. When I do, it brings condemnation to my life.

We are all uniquely and wonderfully made! Focus on God’s wisdom and goodness!

It’s So Easy To Constantly Complain About Things

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18

Happy Monday! I hope that your weekend was great. As I reflect over my last week, I admit it has been a busy one. There were times when I felt like I was being pulled in all different directions and I have caught myself grumbling and complaining. It’s so easy to constantly complain about things.

We have been through a rough two years. In fact, it doesn’t look like things are getting better.

God does answer our prayers but doesn’t answer complaints. On many days it is so easy to focus more on our problems then our blessings.

When we complain, we are literally wasting our time. Complaining does not change one thing about our life.

I don’t have a bubbly personality so it is hard for me to be positive all of the time. I have to work at being positive and thankful because it’s so easy to constantly complain about things.

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18 states, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Being thankful is not a one time thing. It is something that we do throughout the day. A prayer of thanksgiving is the kind of prayer that Jesus answers.

Philippians 4:6-7 states, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

“Complain and remain, praise and be raised.” ~Joyce Meyer

Go to God with thanksgiving. No matter how bad it gets, God is still good and we are blessed!
