Passionate 4 Learning-Week 6

Happy Monday! April is flying by so put on your party clothes and let’s celebrate.

This week is my dad’s eightieth birthday. I am sad because we will not be able to get together.  We can still celebrate. What are you celebrating this week?

Passionate 4 Learning Week 6

Summer birthdays are the best. We have several Summer birthdays in our family. I think birthdays should be celebrated all week!

This week I am sharing some great celebration activities. You don’t have to have a birthday to celebrate. You can celebrate anything such as life, good health, or time together.

Put on your party clothes and let’s celebrate!

Passionate 4 Learning – Dance

Dance Parties – Put on your party clothes and let’s dance. Let the kids pick out the playlist, move the furniture to clear some space, and then have fun. This is a great way to get some exercise for the kids as well as for the adults.

Passionate 4 Learning – Singing

Karaoke Celebration – For this one, you will need a microphone or even a pretend microphone, music, and the lyrics. Let the sings have fun singing their favorite songs.

Build a Fort – Kids love to build forts. All you need are some sheets, blankets, and pillows. You can move the furniture around a bit to support your fort. This could be a great place to let the kids work on a drawing, read, or just journal. Be creative!

Passionate 4 Learning – Balloons

Balloons – Kids love to play with balloons. Blow up a bunch of balloons and let them play.

Passionate 4 Learning – Puzzles

Games – Get out the board games, puzzles, chalk, colors, etc. You may have already played all of the board games in your house. Be creative and have prizes for the winners.

Your kids will love to celebrate. Let your kids do all of the planning and have fun! Let’s make this week amazing. Check out my other Passionate 4 Learning ideas. Or check out my Facebook page. Go ahead and have fun!

I would love to hear from you. Blessings!

Passionate 4 Learning Celebrates Earth Day-Week 5

Happy Monday, friends! This week Passionate 4 Learning celebrates Earth Day with some great activities that you can do at home with your kiddos!

This past week I ventured out to pick up some groceries. I usually have my groceries delivered by Shipt. Have you tried Shipt? All you do is sign up the annual membership, pay the fee, download the app, and you are all set. Just log into the app, load your cart with the grocery needs, choose a delivery time, and the Shipt people will do the rest.

Earth DayTime to celebrate!

I am coming your way with some great Earth Day activities that you can do all week!

Passionate 4 Learning Earth Day Car

Here are a few activities that your kids will love!

You Rock Rock Painting

There are so many great rock activities. This one is probably my favorite. Have you heard of a pet rock? Get your kids outside to collect some rocks. I like the unfinished river rocks. The smooth rocks are the best. You will need some water-based acrylic paint and some brushes. You can also use fine tip paint pens or even some markers that might work. This gets messy so put down some paper. Let your kids be creative such as hearts, rainbows, words, etc. (source: https://rhythmsofplay.com).

Easy Earth Day Collages

There are endless possibilities when it comes to creating a collage. Get out some old magazines, construction paper, glue, and some pens. Have the kids find pictures in the magazines that represent earth day. It can be as creative as you like. Or you can stick with things like plants, earth, dirt, rocks, seeds, etc.

Fun Flower Earth Day Crafts –

If you don’t have seeds to plant some flowers, make some flowers. All you need to make earth day flowers are muffin tin liners, markers, straws, glue, and construction paper. The muffin tin liners will the petals and the straws are the stems of the flowers. You can cut leaves out of green construction paper. So much fun! (source: Printables4Mom)

All things Green and Blue –

Have the kids create pictures with only green and blue. See what they can come up with. Draw an earth and make it come to life with some eyes, nose, and smile. You can use a paper plate and a green and blue marker to make the earth as well (source: projectswithkids.com).

Cute Mini Plant Pots –

I love this idea! Take some empty Play-Doh containers, ribbon, glue, colored tape, and scissors. If you use ribbon, you will need to glue it on the container. I prefer the colored tape because all you need to do it cut it fit around the container. This is a great way to recycle. Now you can fill it with dirt, poke a hole in the bottom to let the water out, and plant a seed. Your kids will love it! (source: projectswithkids.com)

Your kids will love Earth Week! This is your time to really make this a fun time. Be creative. Tomorrow, I am sharing a few Earth Day recipes to try.

We are in this together! I would love to hear from you.

Blessings!

Passionate 4 Learning/Week 4

Happy Monday, friends! How was your Easter weekend? I miss my granddaughters. I see them every day on FaceTime, but I miss their hugs. What do you miss the most?

This week

I am sharing a few ideas that you can do with things that you have around the house. I participated in a scavenger hunt on Friday with my good friend Lisa Marie Angell. She is my go-to for all things Norwex. If you like Norwex, check her group out on Facebook.

Trash to treasure

By now,

you should have gone through a few toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, and a few gallons of milk at your house. Do not throw these in the trash. Your kids can have some fun making things out of these simple items. Also, if you are having things delivered to your house and you have a big box, keep it as well.

Make a time capsule-

A time capsule is a container filled with items that represent present-day things such as photos, letters, newspaper articles, magazines, etc. First, get an old cardboard box. Second, you might want to use a plastic bag to put the items in so the items will be weatherproof. Third, let your kids choose something that they want to put in the time capsule. Last, hide it or bury it. (https://www.mykidstime.com/things-to-do/how-to-make-a-time-capsule-with-kids/)

Cardboard Box-

You can make many things with cardboard boxes. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

  • A large cardboard box can easily be made into a playhouse. Get some markers and decorate the sides to look like a house. Cut out a few windows and a door. Now you have a playhouse that kids can play with for hours.
  • Use a cereal box and make a fish aquarium. Cut out the front of the box. Draw a few fish on construction paper. Find some wire to connect the fish to the box. Get some rocks and dirt for the bottom. Then wrap some plastic wrap around the empty cut out of the cereal box. Be creative!
  • Aluminum Foil Butterflies- you will need a cereal box, glue, sharpies, pipe cleaners, beads, and scissors. Make sure to unfold the cereal box and lay it flat. Glue aluminum foil on the flat surface and glue it on. Let it dry. Draw the butterfly wings and cut them out. Let the kids decorate the wings with the sharpies. Add the pipe cleaner in the middle. Bees and Ladybugs

Cover the toilet paper rolls with construction paper, make some wings, add some eyes and you have a bee or a ladybug. (https://www.easypeasyandfun.com/paper-roll-bee-craft-for-kids/)

Kids love to play and be creative. Let them come with their own ideas!

We are all in this together! Don’t forget to reach out with any questions.

Blessings!
