It’s Supposed To Be The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Matthew 11:28
Matthew 11:28

Happy Monday! I hope that you are having a great week. December is always a mad dash to complete all the things. This week I am talking about the Christmas season. It’s supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year!

I do love Christmas because we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. We sing all of the Christmas songs and decorate our houses.

One of my favorite Christmas songs is “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!”

During the Christmas season, we struggle with managing expectations and family issues which causes more stress. How do you manage everything especially this time of year? It’s supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year!

In Matthew 11:28 Jesus tells us to, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Even more so now, in this busy season, we need to take time to rest in knowing that we can never do enough.

I believe God wants us to come to Him and be assured that we are accepted because of what He has done for us.

When we do so, we can truly experience freedom from the worry and stress of not doing enough.

I want to be at that place where I can celebrate and truly enjoy the most wonderful time of the year!

Will you join me in this time of rest?

I need just a minute, please!

I need just a minute, please!
I need just a minute, please!

Happy December! This past week I took some time to decorate my home for Christmas. Many of the ornaments that I put on the Christmas tree holds special memories. Taking time to treasure special memories in a world filled with nothing but the noise makes my heart so happy. This week I am talking about needing a minute.

Last week I talked about learning more in the quiet. If you missed my blog last week, you can find it here.

I started the book of Luke a few days ago. One verse that stood out to me was Luke 2:19, “But Mary treasured all these things, giving careful thought to them and pondering them in her heart.”

In a world that is full of chaos and change, have you caught yourself saying “I need just a minute, please!”

I remember when my boys were little and it seemed like every time I was busy, they would bombard me with questions. I needed a few minutes to think.

Now that my boys are grown, I have more time to myself, but life never slows down. Chaos is everywhere we turn.

The noise keeps us from the good things.

In Luke 2:19, Mary didn’t wonder why these things were happening around her. She pondered the good things of God in her heart.

I need a minute to ponder the good. What would our lives be like if throughout the day we spent a minute pondering the things of God? How would our lives change?

Take a minute, be still, and ponder what God is doing in your life.

Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

All we need to know is God has everything in control. He will never fail you!

Your Attitude and Your Thoughts Belong To You!

Psalm 103:5
Psalm 103:5

Happy Monday! I hope that you are having a great week. This week I am talking more about having hope. Your attitude and your thoughts belong to you. No one can make you have a bad attitude if you don’t want to.

We spend a lot of time in our life waiting. Studies show that we spend 58.6 hours waiting at red lights every 365 days. We spend on average 6 months of our lives waiting in line for something. We also wait for our goals and dreams to be fulfilled.

I’ll be honest, I don’t like to wait. I have never liked to wait. But who does?

But when I wait, it is up to me to wait with a good attitude. My attitude and my thoughts belong to me!

I can decide to have hope and wait expectantly. Hope is not merely wishing everything will turn out okay. It is in the knowledge that things will turn out okay.

Psalm 130:5 “I wait for the Lord, I expectantly wait, and in His word do I hope.”

You may be going through something today that is so hard. Have hope in the Lord! Make a decision to have hope no matter how difficult your circumstances may seem.

I urge you to read, study, listen, and meditate on the word of God! Expect something good to happen today!
