Some days it’s hard to get out of bed!

Some days it’s hard to get out of bed!

Hello friends! I have been talking about trust which is not always easy. When someone hurts you it’s hard getting up out of bed! I admit I have been there many times in my life.

I have been studying the book of Philippians. Friends, Paul definitely had the right mindset even when he was in prison. Paul believed his imprisonment would not bring him shame, but joy. Paul trusted that God had a plan.

Paul went through a lot in his life but he never gave up. I’d like to think even Paul had days where it was hard getting up out of bed! But, who knows!

Paul believed that God would and could bring good out of every bad circumstance. Philippians 1:20 states, “Yes, and I will rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance.”

We need to be bold enough to declare that things will change. God has a good plan for our lives and He will help us even when it’s hard.

It’s time to stop believing the lies!

It's time to stop believing the lies!
It’s time to stop believing the lies!

Happy Monday! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Spring Break. We visited our kids and grandkids over the break. It was a glorious time. This week we continue to discuss trust. Maybe you are having trouble with trusting right now. I know I am! It’s time to stop believing the lies!

Fear can stop you from trusting. With God, we can work through our fear of rejection, our fear of the unknown, our fear of being taken advantage of, fear of making mistakes, or our fear of the future. It’s time to start placing our trust in God.

Psalm 56:3-4 states, “When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?”

The Devil wants you to continue being fearful to keep you from trusting anyone. He whispers lies such as “you will never overcome your fears or you can’t trust anybody.” Don’t believe the lies of the Devil. You can and will overcome through Christ.

The Bible has so many great scriptures to help us when we start to fear.

  • “I trust in God at all times. I pour out my heart before Him; God is a refuge for me,” Psalm 62:8.
  • “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but I remember the name of the Lord my God,” Psalm 20:7.
  • “I lean on, trust in, and am confident in the Lord with all of my heart and mind and I do not rely on my own insight and understanding,” Proverbs 3:5

Start reading and saying these scriptures when you feel afraid. Remember to be bold in the Lord!

It is time to get back into the race!

It is time to get back into the race!

Happy Monday! We are starting Spring Break and I am so ready. With Spring comes the warmer weather, flowers, and the rain. But if you are feeling a little down today, it is time to get up and get back into the race!

Looking back on this past year, it has certainly been memorable. About this time last year, we were already hearing about school closings. I remember this specifically because my youngest was in his last semester at Abilene Christian University. He finished his semester out totally online.

The book of Job is about hard times. Job lost his money, friends, family, and his health. I could only imagine what Job went through. You may be facing great difficulty today. God is with you. It is time to get up and get back into the race!

Even though Job went through a lot, he continued to have faith in God. Job said, “I know that You can do all things and that no thought or purpose of Yours can be restrained or thwarted” (Job 42:2). Job had faith in God.

No matter what you are going through, God has a plan for you. Have faith!

Faith is bold!
