Our hope is in the Lord!
Happy Monday! What does hope mean to you? I admit I struggle with keeping my hope up when all around us it feels like things are falling apart.
Just when you think you have it all together, something comes along and rocks you to the core. How do we continue to have hope when we are going through the most terrible circumstances?
When we plant a garden, we spend time tilling the soil, preparing the seeds, planting the seeds, and watering the seeds. We get up everyday in expectation that something will start to grow from all of our hard work. We have hope!
What is it about people who are happy all of the time? They are filled with hope!
Hope is more than a feeling!
Romans 5:2 says, “By whom we also have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand and rejoice in the hope of the Glory of God.”
Romans 12:2 says, “rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;”
Both of these scriptures mention being joyful in hope. We can be joyful because there is hope for tomorrow. I am learning to take one day at a time!
My joy is not in my circumstances. My joy is in knowing God!
Hope is based on the evidence of what God has done in the past.
Get your hopes up! Make hope a daily habit!

Hello friends! Last weekend we celebrated my youngest son’s twenty-fifth birthday. I can’t believe he is already twenty-five. When my boys were younger, I was a single mom. Most days, I spent my time surviving not thriving. It was hard but we made it. The one thing that got me through the hardest of days, was knowing that God could never love me more even when I made mistakes.
We use the word love all of the time but we struggle with the true meaning of love. Love is not a feeling or a nice word, it is the way you treat people.
If we truly understood the depth of God’s love for us we would never be afraid to love others. Loving the way God loves us means you love when you get nothing in return. That is a tough one!
We spend too much time worrying about ourselves. It is so easy to get in the “what about me” mindset.
John 13:34, “I am giving you a new commandment, that love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another.”
The world is desperate for real love so it isn’t hard to find someone who needs love.
1 Corinthians 14:1, “Eagerly pursue and seek to acquire love...”
Make it your goal today to pursue God’s love and then give it away by blessing someone!
There is a new song that I have been listening to over and over this week by Elevation Worship. It is truly and amazing song so I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do!

And just like that, Easter is over. To some, it’s just a day filled with Easter eggs and chocolates. When it’s over, we go back to living our busy lives.
But to me Easter is more than a day. Easter is so much more.
Yesterday we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus our Lord and Savior. We can have hope because Jesus is alive!
We will battle hopelessness in our lives, however we must never give up. Because, hope is powerful.
“After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace [who imparts His blessing and favor], who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen, and establish you [making you what you ought to be]” 1 Peter 5:10.
I love this scripture. In the last year, we have gone through so much and just when we think it’s over, something else comes up. But knowing that God will take care of us through it all gives us hope.
Hope is the expectation that something good is going to happen.
Choose to believe that God is going to do something better in your life, even when you don’t feel like it.
God is greater than anything we go through.
