Passionate 4 Learning-Week 2

Hello Friends and Happy Monday,

Many of you are beginning today with homeschooling your children. I want to bring a light of encouragement today. You are never alone! On top of that, you have so many resources so never be afraid to reach out.

We are in this together!

Today I am sharing fantastic activities for the week! The goal is to learn something new each day.

Head on over to Highlights.com. This is a fantastic website with so many great resources and app ideas for ages 0 to 12. For example, you can download the Hidden Picture digital play app and get instant access to 125 puzzles. Or try a club for free for a week and receive a free tote. They even provide some great activity ideas for you and your family.

Don’t miss out on the Scholastic free resources for grades Pre-kindergarten to 9. (scholastic) You can click on the age of your children and begin the lessons all in digital format. For example, books are built right into the lesson in digital formatting and fully animated. Scholastic provides the entire week of lessons for you.

If you haven’t already, get out the board games, cards, or dominos to play with the kids.

For an easy way to teach math keep reading!

I love the idea of using Legos to teach math concepts. Check out this website for some great ideas. https://www.boredteachers.com/resources/lego-explain-math-concepts

There are so many great games to play outside such as chalking the sidewalk, playing hopscotch, blowing bubbles, dodge ball, etc. So, if the weather your kids can play outside.

Many of my favorites songs are great activity songs to use with the little ones. For example, Hap Palmer has so many great big activity songs for the little ones that you can easily find on YouTube. (Put Your Hands Up In The Air, Open Shut Them, and Rock and Roll Freeze).

Last, but not least!

For the older kids, Khan Academy and Disney have teamed up to create a free learning tool, “Imagineering in a Box.” (www.khan academy) There are 32 videos that share information on story development, conceptual design, math, physics, and engineering.

So many of these online resources can be used throughout the week. I hope that you will head over today to check them out. Just remember, we are in this together.

Don’t forget to head over to the purpose planner for more great ideas.
